Work stress, fear, Buddhism, butterflies, gratitude, “kicks in the arse,” and more. Fourteen blog post moved me, in one way or another, to award them a star in my Google Reader last month. They are all listed below, and I want to point to three of them for special mentions.
First, Dan Oestreich lays out an entire workshop-in-a-post with Should I Stay or Should I Quit?, a must-read for those who are, “suffering in jobs no longer worth the stress of having them.” If you aren’t experiencing that right now, bookmark Dan’s post for a time when you are.
Also, Kathryn Hall introduces the amazing 92-year-old Louise Hallberg and her equally amazing butterfly garden in Field Trip! Hallberg Butterfly Gardens, and then follows up with Host Plants vs. Nectar Plants, a fascinating look at how butterflies need certain plants in order to breed.
Here is the whole list. Happy reading!

Dick, many many thanks for your kind honoring of my two butterfly posts. From the kinds of comments I’m getting I have to say I think these are two of my more important posts, which I hope will have positive reverberations throughout the gardening community. So thanks for helping spread the word about how we can save butterflies from extinction! No small job, but if we all work together we can make a difference.
As always, Dick, thank you so much for your generosity, kindness, and support. I feel very lucky to feel such a kinship of the heart.
Dick, not sure if I’d ever told you that dragons are some of my most favorite things in the whole wide world. And I am beyond honored to be flying upon one in your sector of the Universe! You truly are an inspiration.
